The aim of the course:
To learn about the origin and types of myths and to convey information about important myths of Ancient Near Eastern cultures.
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : They gain knowledge about the origin and types of myths.
LO - 2 : They learn about the myths of ancient Near Eastern cultures.
LO - 3 : They become aware of the connections between the myths of ancient Near Eastern cultures.
LO - 4 : They create awareness about the emergence and spread of common myths.
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
The theological structure, pantheons, important myths and some literary works of Sumerian, Semitic, Canaanite (Eastern Mediterranean), Egyptian and Anatolians constitute the content of this course.
