The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to give information about Mesopotamian cultures and archeology from the end of the 4th millennium BC to the end of the 3rd millennium BC.
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : The first record keeping technologies in history and the development of writing will be able to be learned.
LO - 2 : The information on archaeological materials related to Uruk, Jemdet Nasr, Early Dynasty and Akkadian periods will be able to be learned.
LO - 3 : The information about the culture and political history of Mesopotamia from the end of the 4th millennium BC to the end of the 3rd millennium BC will be able to be learned.

Contents of the Course
Mesopotamian history and archeology starting from the Uruk period at the end of the 4th millennium to the end of the Akkadian period at the end of the 3rd millennium will be covered in this course. The archaeological settlements of Uruk, Jemdet Nasr, Early Dynasties and the Akkadian period and the materials obtained from these areas will be introduced with their characteristic features. Also, developments in recording technology during these periods constitute the content of this course.
