The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the history of state interaction at a world level, examine the rises and falls of the major powers of the international system, and provide a historical narrative of the practice of political military, and diplomacy.

Contents of the Course
This course will offer an overview of political history of the world starting from the 17th century till the end of the Second World War. The focus of the class is the European region and great powers. The course would emphasise certain events in history; The Thirty Years? War, the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, the Wars of German Unification, and the two world wars of the 20th century.
