The aim of the course:
It is to help students to learn the phenomenon of International Financial Crises within the framework of both conceptual framework, crisis theories and also in the context of crises experienced around the world and to help students to evaluate or discuss the relevant crisis cases by the facts in order to find out what happened on the way going to the crises and which crisis model best fits each of them.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

PO - 3 : Understand what the theoretical models explaining the causes and processes of financial crises tell. Understand how the theoretical models explaining the causes and processes of financial crises differ from each other. Evaluate how far the theoretical models can explain the experienced crises. Examine the crises experienced around the world through the country cases. Contents of the Course
Identification and classification of international financial crises, within the scope of the crisis theories, analyzing the First, Second and Third Generation Crisis Models, addressing the financial crises experienced in the world in terms of the facts and the crisis theories, within this framework, examining the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM) crisis in 1992, the Mexican crisis in1994, the Turkish Crisis in 1994, the 1997 Asian Crisis, the Russian Crisis in 1998, the Brazilian Crisis in 1999, the Turkish Crises in 2000-2001, the Argentina Crisis in 2002 and the Global Financial Crisis in 2008.
