The aim of the course:
This course aims to teach the embryonic development processes in multicellular organisms and the genetic mechanisms that control these processes.

Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : explain in general the mechanisms of gene expression and cell-cell communication in embryonic developmental processes.31
PO - 2 : explain in general the steps of embryonic development in multicellular organisms.1
PO - 3 : understand the common aspects and differences of embryonic development in model organisms (Drosophila, sea Urchin, fishes and amphibians).
PO - 4 : comprehend embryological development steps in general in mammalian organisms (mouse, human).
PO - 5 : comprehend sexual development, organogenesis and morphogenesis in mammals.
PO - 6 : understand the genetic causes of congenital anomalies in humans.
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome
