The aim of the course:
In this course, the aim is to depict in an applied way how a literature and literary forms such as poetry, short story, play and novel are used in classroom as fundamental learning and teaching materials in the process of language acquisition and to provide the students with necessary skills of combining the characteristics of the language itself with culture of the target language through the use of literary pieces.

Contents of the Course
Significance and the meaning of literature in language learning and teaching is presented. Relationship between language and culture which forms the very basis of any given language is clearly and explicitly defined. The role of literature in the process of translation is emphasized. Different types of texts are analyzed and practiced in the classroom as an example in order to show how to make use of literary pieces in language acquisition in the classroom.
