The aim of the course:
This course is a general introduction to the nature, history and use of human language, speech and writing. Students will become familiar with both the theory and methodology of linguistics through readings and class discussions. This course is designed to familiarize students with major concepts as to language and linguistics and help them raise their awareness about language and linguistics.
