The aim of the course:
The objective of the course is to provide students with a detailed knowledge of characterization and properties of lignin and to expose the students to determinate the structural elements in lignin, to provide some necessary tools and techniques to identify structural models for lignins.

Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : summarise formation of lignin macromolecules and be able explain the lignification of the cell wall.51,3
PO - 2 : describe the structure and constitutions of lignin.51,3
PO - 3 : apply various techniques in search of characterization and properties of lignins and lignin derivatives.3,51,3
PO - 4 : evaluate the results of lignin analyze and explain lignin heterogeneity.41,3
PO - 5 : Students will be able to use different lignin isolation methods.51,3
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome
