Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
Preparing of chips for pulping. Mechanical pulp making in defibrator. Semichemical pulping, laboratory scale chemical pulping. White liquor preparation and testing. Screening of pulp and calculation of yield. Determination of kappa number and prediction of bleachibility. Determination of pulp viscosity and prediction of degree of polymerisation. Determination of cooper number. Other chemical tests on pulp. Prediction of pulp quality and papermaking properties according to obtained data.
