The aim of the course:
The main goals of this course are to give some useful knowledge about pulping reaction

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : define and explain the importance of lignin and carbohydrate reactions during pulping operation.41,3

Contents of the Course
Acidic pulping reactions: Acidic hydrolysis of polysaccarides, factors effecting the hydrolisis, dehydradation and oxidation reactions. Lignin reactions in acidic medium. Alkalen pulping reactions: Peeling and alkalen hydrolysis, oxidative degradation reactions. Hydrogenisation of monosaccarides. Lignin degradation reactions in alkalen pulping media. Reactions of ectractives during pulping
