Contents of the Course
Conditioning of paper and humidity-paper properties relations. Nature and effects of beating. Test sheet making. Influence of fiber properties on paper strength. Fiber coarseness. Intrinsic fiber strength. Cohesiveness of fibers and fiber compatibility. Fiber surface measurement. Wet web strength. Physical properties of paper. Strength of fiber-fiber bonds. Optical characteristics of paper. Dirt and shives. Tests and testing data processing.
