To provide general information about the bryofloristic composition of Turkey.

Contents of the Course
General characteristics and classification of bryophytes. The origin and phylogenetic relationships of bryophytes. Geographic regions of Turkey (Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia, Southeastern Anatolia, Central Anatolia, Mediterranean, Aegean, Marmara), its characteristic species. Bryophyte species (Anthocerophyta, Marchantiophyta ve Bryophyta) distribution by region in Turkey and the comparison of the regions in terms of biodiversity. Bryophyte flora of Turkey and numerical studies on the bryophyte flora of Turkey. Factors influencing bryophyte diversity.
