The aim of the course:
This course is designed to present an introduction to the general concept of conservation status of plant species at global and regional level.

Contents of the Course
Red list categories and criteria. The scope of categorization process. Nature of categories, role of the different criteria and conservation action in the listing process. Red list categories of IUCN and its properties. Examples of filing a questionnaire of red list assessment. The floristic composition of Turkish plants, its distribution and threat categories. List of rare, endemic plant species of Turkey. The presentation of economic plants and its trade (export) . Turkish plants presented in CITES.
