The aim of the course:
Increasing the students' knowledge on extrachromosomal DNA elements and prepare them for a graduate study.

Contents of the Course
An overview on extrachromosomal elements, plasmids, transposons, mitochondri and chloroplast DNA's, E. coli plasmids, the scientific background of the plasmids used routinely to clone genes and to express proteins, archaeal and eukaryotic plasmids, plasmid-based expression systems for mammalian cells, bioinformatics tools and methods for plasmid sequence analysis, horizontal gene transfer mediated by plasmids, plasmids for gene therapy, plasmid DNA for cancer and infectious diseases.
