Importance of water biotopes regardinf ecology, economy and sociology

Contents of the Course
Water use in urban landscape design is an important field requiring more than visual characteristics of water. Success in water use within landscape architecture is only possible when the designers know ecological characteristics of water biotopes, ecological dynamics of water biotopes regarding some classification standards like EUNIS and when the creating of a relation between living and sapless materials to be used in landscape architecture is done. The main topics to be discussed within the class are; The terms landscape architecture and urban landscape design Ecological approaches and biotopes in design Importance of water regarding design Water classification criteria as a biotope EUNIS classification system and its importance The potential e ecological problems because of water use The solution proposals to these problems Flora to be used in water in urban landscape designs Fauna to be used in water in urban landscape designs Effects of constructional materials to water biotopes Things to be done so that ecological cycling can be done.
