The aim of the course:
The course aims to provide the students the knowledge about marine pollution under the meteorological and oceanographic conditions. Existence of water pollution, changing by the time and location , precautions and limitataion human effect on the marine pollution

Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Have a clear presentation of the concepts and principles of seas and oceans physical, chemical and ecological properties.1,3,4,61,3,5
PO - 2 : Present before an audience the results and outcome of any exercise.3,4,61,3,5
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome

Contents of the Course
In this course, fundamental physical, chemical, geological, and biological processes occurring in ocean environments are examined in the context of how they impact humans, environmental disturbances due to human activities in coastal environments and how humans have impacted the ocean. Topics include coastal oceanography and shore processes, water chemistry, circulation, and air/sea interactions as related to pollution and climate change. Coastal environment are carried out, including descriptive and dynamic studies on density currents and wind driven currents in regions of estuary, bay and shelf. The role of coastal fronts and water circulation associated with them in the exchange and transport of materials are of major concern. Oceanographic and geological criteria for outfall and dumping of solid wastes.
