The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to provide a knowledge of some environmental systems such as ocean, water, climate and biodiversity.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : learn the concept of environment and climate
PO - 2 : understand the relation between climate and oceanography
PO - 3 : comment on climate change impact on living earth
PO - 4 : understand the effects of fossil fuels
PO - 5 : learn how to monitor global climate change

Contents of the Course
The aim of this course is to provide a knowledge of some environmental systems such as ocean, water, climate and biodiversity. Course topics will include the Greenhouse effect, Carbon cycling and Carbon reservoirs, Ocean circulation, El Nino and Southern Oscillation, conventional and sustainable use of natural resources, global warming and climate change, strategies and politics to mitigate global warming effect.
