The aim of the course:
Introducing concept, techniques and application of integrated coastal zone management projects

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : learn fundamentals of integrated coastal zone management
PO - 2 : evaluate coastal zone management legislation and laws
PO - 3 : asses ecological processes in coastal area
PO - 4 : learn how to research coastal water quality
PO - 5 : understand biological and physical interactions in coastal zone

Contents of the Course
Land-Sea interactions, definition of coastal margin, coastal zone, continental shelf, coast line, exclusive economic zone and open sea, adverse effects of marine transportation and port activities, coastal tourism, agricultural and fisheries activities on integrated coastal zones, ecologic and social indicators, coastal zone managments plans and updating strategy
