The aim of the course:
The purpose of this course to provide students advance knowledge on seafood biotoxins and therefore they can able to carry out research or work on this area.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : learn how common toxins accumulation in seafood occur in relation to toxic algea and other factors.11,2,3,4
PO - 2 : describe the distribution of seafoods that present health risk in terms of biotoxins and comment on the subject.1,61,3,5
PO - 3 : guide seafood producers or processing companies in terms of controlling seafood biotoxins.3,61,3,5,6
PO - 4 : work at goverment establishments that regulate and monitor biotoxins originating from seafood.3,63,6

Contents of the Course
Introduction. Epidemiology of biotoxin poisoning in the world. The types of biotoxins. Distrubition of most abundant toxic algae around the world. Monitoring programs for biotoxins in seafoods. Analytical methods used for biotoxins: Mousebioassays for algal toxins. High performance Liquid Chromatography Techniques used in algal toxin analysis. Pathogenic and lethal doses of biotox ins for humans.
