The aim of the course:
Participants are provided knowledge about the relevant legislation and measures taken for underground and surface mining, and drilling operations in terms of OHS issues.
 
Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : defines the concepts with underground and surface mining operations.
PO - 2 : explain the equipment used in mining and the methods of excavation and transportation.
PO - 3 : indicate the permissible standard values​​ of hazardous gases and dust, and ventilation methods in underground mines.
PO - 4 : have information on explosive materials and their environmental impact, safety measures and other legislation
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome
