The aim of the course:
To make sure that students understand the importance of oceanographic parametres, analysis of data and make simple yield prediction, gain knowledge enough for the underwater acustics.

Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : learn oceanographic parameters.3,9,10,11,12,15,171,6
PO - 2 : understand the effects of these parameters on fish and fisheries.10,11,12,171,6
PO - 3 : do modelling and forcasting in oceanography.10,11,12,151,6
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome

Contents of the Course
Sea water and its characteristics. The effects of temperature, currents, tide, light and other environmental factors on fish distributions, behaviour, and fish schooling. Data analysis and simple prediction models for fish yield associated with oceanographic parameters.
