The aim of the course:
The purpose of this course is to provide information to students on the international seafood trade and the factors affecting this trade. Moreover, the course covers price discovery, seafood market research, labelling used in international trade and traceability issues.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Comment on past and current international seafood trade
PO - 2 : Predict and evaluate future trend on international seafood trade
PO - 3 : Run a company section to market seafood products and do seafood market research
PO - 4 : Have knowledge on risks and opportunities on international seafood trade and comment on these issues

Introduction, Trends in Capture and Aquaculture Production, Trends in international seafood trade, Trade by major seafood group, Fundamental principals of international trade applied to fisheries, Price discovery, Seafood market research, Aquaculture, fisheries and evolution of market, Institutions and Measures of importance to international trade in seafood, the seafood consumer, trade and environment. Labelling issues; ecolabelling and traceability. Current laws in international seafood trade.
