General properties of coastal oceans and seas. Topographic characteristics of coasts. Ekman layer dynamics and stratification of shallow seas . Tides in shallow waters. Fronts in shallow seas and estuaries. Water masses. Salt balance, flushing time, pollutant disposal, sediment transport in estuaries and bays. Coastal damage and erosion. |
