The aim of the course:
To provide detailed information to the students about fisheries sector and its sub sectors including major constraints and solution proposals.

Contents of the Course
Water and aquatic living resources of Turkey, historical development and current status of Turkish fisheries, fish consumption, processing and marketing in Turkey, institutional structure and administration, fisheries and environment, malpractices in fisheries sector, major constraints and solution approaches.

 Week 4Aquaculture, aquaculture in the world, production data, fish farms, hatcheries, species.
 Week 5Turkish fishery sector, fish consumption, import and exports, development and bottlenecks in processing and marketing, quality-control.
 Week 6Organization and support in fisheries sector, domestic coordination and integration of the EU, fisheries legislation and law, main organizations, credits.
