The aim of the course:
What is the new generation of wooden building elements, where it is used and advantages and disadvantages to comprehend. Production technology, raw materials used, properties of adhesives and binders, quality control and new developments in this industry, to provide information about laws and regulations.

Contents of the Course
Engineering structural wooden materials, the various superior properties of wood according to other building materials. New generation engineering products related to wooden structure design, standards, application areas, market, laws and regulations. Production technology; Properties of raw materials, preparation of wood raw materials for lamination production, used materials and fasteners, product processing techniques, machine line, factory design, product quality control, packaging, transport and on-site assembly.

 Week 2Information about the classification of engineered structural wood materials will be given.
 Week 3Structural wood material market in the world, information about the relevant laws and regulations will be given.
 Week 4Wooden carrier and construction products will be introduced.
 Week 5Information about PSL (Parallel Strand Lumber) Material will be given.
 Week 6Information about LSL (Laminated Strand Lumber) Material will be given.
 Week 7Information about OSL (Oriented Strand Lumber) Material will be given.
 Week 8Structural Plywood, LVL and I Beam materials will be introduced.
 Week 9Mid-term
 Week 10Information about CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) Material will be given.
 Week 11Information about GLULAM Material will be given.
 Week 12Designs for the Usage Areas of Structural Wood Materials will be introduced
 Week 13Homework Presentations
 Week 14A production application will be made for each Engineering product.
 Week 15Information on quality control, packaging, transportation and on-site assembly of engineered structural wood materials will be given.
