The aim of the course:
It is aimed to give information about different decay test and how to use of them in order to determine the effectiveness of wood preservatives.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : define terminology of fungi decay tests2
PO - 2 : choose and put into practise the techniques required to use miscelleneous wood-decay fungi species2,3,5
PO - 3 : apply the method and control data for regular operation of all fungi decay tests3,5,6
PO - 4 : compare miscellaneous wood fungi decay tests and, to put into practise them3,5,6
PO - 5 : analyse the problems related to miscelleneous fungi decay test operations and, suggest a solution about them5,6,7
PO - 6 : develop strategy about wood fungi decay tests area in both the country and the world5,7,8

Contents of the Course
General information of decay tests, pre-laboratory and laboratory tests, EN 113 decay test, ASTM D 1413 decay test, ground contact tests, field test, comparing different decay test for particleboard, MDF and solid wood, determining of appropriate decay test for different product groups and wood preservatives, applications for used places, factors to be considered for decay test.
