Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : They learn the chemical structure of wood and plant material and the basic rules of producing different components.4,8
PO - 2 : Students learn the processes of thermal decomposition, combustion, carbonization, gasification and liquefaction of wood. gasification and liquefaction.4,8
PO - 3 : Students learn the sugaring of wood and the production of different chemical products from cellulose.4,8
PO - 4 : Students learn to utilize hemicelluloses, production and use of technical lignins.4,8
PO - 5 : Students learn the use of wood extractives in different fields.4,8

Contents of the Course
The principal routes of direct wood and plant biomass conversion. Thermal degration of wood; combustion, carbonization(pyroliz), gasification and liquefaction. Wood saccharification, the production of chemical products from cellulose, utilization of polyoses, the production and utilization of technical lignins. Utilization of wood extractives in different field. Natural sources of resin, Flow resin, Extraction resin, Tall oil resin, Evaluation of Foliage (a mixture of forest leaf and fine woody shoot growing from the branch or trunk of a tree or shrub.)
