The aim of the course:
Introduction to boron compounds and its application on the wood preservation industry, impregnation methods.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

PO - 2 : classify physical/chemical properties of boron impregnation systems and, to define them in detail2,3,4,81,6,

Contents of the Course
Introduction to boron compounds, Total reserve of boron in world and Turkiye, application areas of boron compound, using of boron on preservation of wood, using chronology of boron on wood treatment, treatment techniques for boron impregnation, The most using boron compounds for impregnation, diffusion mechanisms of boron, advantages of boron using on wood preservation, leaching problems of boron compunds, techniques for reducing the leaching of boron compounds, technique for boron fixation into the wood structure, using of boron compounds on wood composites, application methods with boron steam, possible methods for wood protection in the future.
