Contents of the Course
General information about wood boring insects, classification and the place of insects in the animal kingdom; characteristic of insects; the general biology and development of insects; structural, chemical and physical properties of wood regarding insect attack; wood degrading insects; termites; wood degrading marine organisms; inspection of insect attack in wood and wooden structures; insecticides for protection; biological mechanisms of insecticides; non-chemical protecting methods for insect attack; fumigation and fumigants; fumigant applications; other methods
