The aim of the course:
Wood has been modified with different chemical agents in order to protect against biotic and abiotic degratative factors. It is intended to give information about interactions between wood and chemical agents, modification methods for adequate protection, physical and chemical properties of some chemical agents.

Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : define terminology of chemical modification2
PO - 2 : classify physical/chemical properties of wood modification systems and, to define them in detail2,3
PO - 3 : choose and put into practise the modification techniques required to increase effectiveness in wood modifying process3,5
PO - 4 : define the methods improving hydrophobic structure of wood2,3
PO - 5 : compare the physical/chemical properties of acetylated and the other type modified woods2,3
PO - 6 : develop strategy about modification process. 5,6,7
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome

Contents of the Course
