The aim of the course:
To develop the capability to make economical planning and macro and micro analysis of forestry sector

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : critically appraise the use of financial analysis as a technique and prepare a feasibility study for a project using financial criteria.2,51,3,5,
PO - 2 : develop an understanding of the role of project analysis in determining resource allocation, and consider how costs and benefits can be identified and quantified.2,51,3,5,
PO - 3 : have an appreciation of the importance of time discounting and the incorporation of equity, poverty and livelihood objectives into project appraisal.2,5,71,3,5,
PO - 4 : have knowledge of the qualitative and quantitative methods of investigation that can be used to show trade-offs between economic efficiency, environmental quality and social impacts.5,71,3,5,

Contents of the Course
Introduction to economic aspects of Project appraisal; Conceptual Foundations; Framework and Elements of Project Appraisal; Project appraisal. Project appraisal criteria for enterprises. Planning and plans in forestry. Input-output analysis of forestry sector both national and Northeast Black Sea Region. Project appraisal criteria for forestry investments and appraisal examples.
