The aim of the course:
Objectives of the CourseThe aim of this course is to train the students about the basic concepts and terminology of carbonate depositional systems including marine shallow-water and lacustrine carbonates and deep-water facies of pelagic and resedimented limestones.

Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Make students well- informed about basic sedimentary facies2,41,3
PO - 2 : Provide students to contact with rocks, sedimentary facies and environment2,41,3
PO - 3 : Make students catch on the phenomenon of rocks diagenesis2,41,3
PO - 4 : Make students catch on the different carbonates depositional areas2,41,3
PO - 5 : Give students the experience of results of the applied2,41,3
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome
