The aim of the course:
This course provides a detailed information for explaining the current and past plate motions, tectonics and magmatic activity of the Earth.

Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : explain the current and past plate motions.1,3
PO - 2 : interpret the geological phenomena in a plate tectonic context
PO - 3 : interpret the relationship between magmatism and plate motions.
PO - 4 : understand the processes involved in subduction zones, including metamorphism, earthquakes and magmatism.
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome
