Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Introduction of surface wave, propagation of surface waves, period equations 1,31,3
PO - 2 : conceive to dispersion, phase and group velocities, transform properties of Love and Rayleigh waves 1,31,3,6
PO - 3 : description to attenuations of surface waves 1,31,6
PO - 4 : comment to free oscillations and normal mods, surface waves with very long period 1,31,4,6

Contents of the Course
account of surface waves in geoscience, interaction on free surface, introduction of Love and Rayleigh waves, surface wave in spherical earth model, great circle path, azimuth and back azimuth, group and signal concept, dispersion and phase and group velocity, attenuation of surface waves, free oscillations, sufrace waves with very long period.
