The aim of the course:
Researching and analyzing the artistic and architectural theories, theoreticians and movements in 20th century by visual presentations, and gaining the continuity transferring the abstract knowledge into practice.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : summarize the general concepts on philosophy, art, beauty and aesthetics.41,2
PO - 2 : interpret the specific remarks of Nietzsche, Croce, Heidegger, Wittgenstein, Eco, Derrida, which are effective in the art and architecture of 20th century.41,2
PO - 3 : define the basic concepts about the main theories of art and architecture of 20th century.41,2,3,5
PO - 4 : analyse the interactions between art and architecture and to propose synthesis for future developments.41,2,5
PO - 5 : express their original ideas and interpretations about the arts and architecture of 20th century, before an audience.45,6

Contents of the Course
The general concepts and conceptions of art and architecture: Philosophy, art, beauty and aesthetics. The main theories and theoreticians of 20th century in art and architecture: Nietzsche, Croce, Heidegger, Wittgenstein, Eco, Derrida, and others. The main theories of art in 20th century: Impressionism, Fauvism, Expressionism, Symbolism, Art Nouveau, Cubism, Purism, Futurism, Dadaism, Surrealism, De Stijl, Constructivism, Suprematism, Kinetic Art, Pop Art, Op Art, Land Art, Body Art, Minimalism, Conceptual Art. The main theories of architecture in 20th century: Modernism, Post Modernism, Deconstructivism. The interactions between the artistic and architectural theories in the 20th century.
