The aim of the course:
is to provide an analytical aspect to relationship between the architecture-power-magnificence, which is showing the effect of past to present, formed in present especially with facility of new technological and material and come forward in the race of cities in the process of globalization.

PO - 4 : to discuss the positive and negative effects of magnificence space to the physical structure of cities25,6
PO - 5 : to discuss how the magnificent spaces are perceived/ assessed by people .25,6

Contents of the Course
An analytical approach will be made to the relationship of architecture-magnificence by taking spaces which have different values of display both in building and urban scale. In this context, from the past to present, creation of magnificence anxiety which exist in architecture will be explicated in different building groups as mosques, churches, temples, tombs, efficience urban elements as triumphal archies, monuments, fountains, squares, natural and artificial environments will be discussed. Reflection of magnificent places to the city and the citizens will be examined.
