MIML5260 | Energy Efficent Design in Architecture | 3+0+0 | ECTS:7.5 | Year / Semester | Fall Semester | Level of Course | Second Cycle | Status | Elective | Department | DEPARTMENT of ARCHITECTURE | Prerequisites and co-requisites | None | Mode of Delivery | | Contact Hours | 14 weeks - 3 hours of lectures per week | Lecturer | Prof. Dr. Nihan ENGİN | Co-Lecturer | None | Language of instruction | Turkish | Professional practise ( internship ) | None | | The aim of the course: | The building sector consumes approximately half of the energy produced by fossil fuels. Much of the energy in buildings is used for heating, cooling and ventilating and lighting systems. The important consequences of the energy consumption are the depletion of netural resources and environmental degradation as well. In this context the neccessity of ecological architecture and energy-efficient buildings is inevitable. Today it is inefficient to duplicate the traditional and native architectural products without exploting the technological advantages. This lecture aims to represent the technological oppurtunities and advances when design energy efficient buildings. |
