The aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to introduce stone mastic asphalt mixtures, additives used in SMA, purpose of SMA usage, advantages, disadvantages and the design of SMA.

Introduction to Stone mastic asphalts and definitions, Properties and areas of application, Mixture composition, Mineral aggregates, Binders, Stabilizing additives, Schellenberg binder drainage test, Mix design and Type testing, Mixture production, Mixture interim storage and transport, Paving and compacting, comparison with other mixture types.
