The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to inform the students about zoo design-aim-typologies and to teach the design of natural zoo exhibits for animal species.
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : analyze zoo exhibits depending on the needs of animals.1,2,3,11
LO - 2 : decide the right size and shape of the spatial components (topography, plants and border elements) to design the natural zoo exhibit for animal. 1,2,3,11
LO - 3 : design unobstructed and natural viewing areas for visitors1,2,3,11

Contents of the Course
Definition of zoo and its aims, spatial transinformations of zoos in historical-development process, planning principles of zoos, design principles and typologies of zoos, spatial organization in zoos, the effects of zoos design on the perception of visitors.
