The aim of the course:
The course aims to provide the students with knowledge on native and exotic ground cover plants that can be used as landscape planting, to enable them to understand how ground cover plants design to landscape, to help them use their knowledge to understand the visual, ecological and functional properties of groundcover plant

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : summarise the properties the ground cover plants and be able explain its relation to the landscape planting design.3,4

LO - 4 : evaluate the results of ground cover plants in practices.3,4

Contents of the Course
Ground cover plants as designing materials. Properties and general assessments of ground cover plants. Ground cover classifications. Grass as ground covers, establishment and caring techniques of lawn. Botanical, ecological and aesthetical properties of woody needled, broad leaved, annual, biannual and perennial ground covers, ground cover rhododendrons, roses, bamboos, succulents, bulbous, climbing plants etc. Their implications for usage potentials in Landscape Architecture.
