The aim of the course:
Establishing and interpreting with other process stages in the paper production, the effect of drying on paper quality and financial, changes of pre-sale transactions of paper according to paper types, marketing effects of drying and finishing of paper

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Types of drying used in paper industry and thier interactions with paper types2,4,5
LO - 2 : the structure of the multi-cylinder drying zone, the structure of the drying cylinder and the structure of the drying fabrics2,4,5
LO - 3 : Heat transfer forms in multi-cylinder drying zone, calculation of required steam consumption, steam and condensate systems.2,4,5
LO - 4 : IR and air impingement drying and applied paper types, desing and application2,4,5
LO - 5 : Effect of the dryer on the paper properties, controls on the CD in the dryer.2,4,5
LO - 6 : The purpose of calendering, the way it is applied, the effect on paper properties, the structure of the calenders2,4,5
LO - 7 : Types of calenders, the operating system of calenders and their place in automation2,4,5
LO - 8 : Relational interprettion between all the outputs of all these achievements within itself2,4,5

Contents of the Course
Introduction of paper drying, Fundamentals of paper drying, multicylinder drying, air impingement drying, drying of tissue, steam and condensate systems, dryer section ventilation and head recovery, drying and paper quality, dryer fabrics, calender types, calendering variables, CD-profile control, reeling and winding, roll wrapping and handling
