The aim of the course:
The course aims to expose the students to comprehend the structure, functions, properties and working princibles of the conventional and CNC machines used in furniture manufacturing and to provide teaching enough informations to students about this production subjects and to provide make them determine to different applications and developments.

Contents of the Course
Introduction, definition and purposes of machining, thecniques and types of machining. Structures and geometry of cutter, chip types, cutting formation and criterias for determining surface quality. Factors effecting machining quality. Machining defects and elimination. General structures of woodworking machines. Traditional and computerized insutrial woodworking machines. Sawing, cutting, planing, routing, turning, boring, mortise-tenon, sanding and mounting machines. Feed speeds, cutting speeds and computations of yield on machines.
