The aim of the course:
Teaching why of the wood materials is dried and steamed, advantages obtained from steaming and drying and methods for these purposes. Exposing the problems may be come across during steaming and drying processes and offering the solutions for these problems.

Contents of the Course
Lumber drying theory. Factors effective on drying period. Drying defects, measurement and precaution. Drying basis and schedules in kiln. Special drying methods: High temperature drying, centrifugal drying, chemical drying, high frequency drying, drying with organic substances, infrared drying, vacuum drying. Steaming methods and steaming cellars. Air drying. Accelerating techniques for air drying.
