The aim of the course:
Teaching of lumber production with the maximum yield and minimum loss. Giving information on the lumber manufacturing methods, standardization and new approaches developed for sawmilling industry.

Contents of the Course
Technical development of lumber manufacturing. Standards for raw materials. Types of lumber and measurement. Residues of lumber production and related standards. Sawing methods. Productivity in lumber manufacturing and factors effective on the productivity. Quality yield. Debarking. Sawing with different methods. Sawing machines using fort he lumber industry. Transport equipments. Machines for lifting. Measurement errors for lumber and their correction. Job flow in the sawmills using frame saw machine and band saw. Maintenance and repair of sawing machines and tolls.
