The aim of the course:
The course aims to expose the students to wood chemistry research methods for solving chemical problems related wood chemistry in wood processing plants. They learn to comment wood chemistry analyze results that are inherent in using appropriate wood species in the industry, and to accurately describe and interpret the analyze results. Students learn to solve problems in wood processing plants that represent real forestry industry and how to present results appropriately.

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : analyze the chemical composition of wood and explain its relation to structure of cell-wall of wood..2,51,4
LO - 2 : define and explain the relation of wood chemistry techniques with products and wood processing techniques used in industry.2,51,4
LO - 3 : apply various chemical analyze techniques in search of the chemical composition of wood.2,54
LO - 4 : analyze chemical results and try to find the new using areas in the industry.2,51,4
LO - 5 : interpret and pinpoint the risk and opportunities in using of the forest products in industry.2,51
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome
