The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is focused on the biosynthesis of natural substances, biosynthetic pathways, primary and secondary metabolites, isoprenoids, aromatics, shikimates, polyphenols and the biosynthesis of alkaline substances.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Will be able to relate primary and secondary metabolites with biosynthesis of natural products.21,
PO - 2 : Will be able to classify important natural products produced by biosnythetic pathways.2
PO - 3 : Can discuss the importance and usage of biosynthetic secondary metabolites in pharmacy.2
PO - 4 : Can explain biochemical processes in biological systems.2

Contents of the Course
This course includes basic metabolic processes, biosynthetic pathways in plants, biosynthesis of natural substances, biosynthesis associated with pharmacognosy and secondary metabolites used in pharmacy.
