The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to provide students with the concepts and principles of teaching English for Specific Purposes, course design and planning processes, material design and development, classroom practices and evaluation methods.

Contents of the Course
This course is designed for students who wish to learn how to design special-purpose language programs to meet the specific academic or work-related language needs of adult learners. In particular, it focuses on the historical development of ESP(English for Specific Purposes), analysis of target communication, needs analysis, issues and methodologies in ESP. It includes discussion of the various subfields of the discipline (e.g., English for Academic Purposes, English for Business, etc.) along with the discussion of ESP?s key principles (e.g., needs/genre analysis, learner needs vs. wants, learner-centered curricula).
