The aim of the course:
The main goal is to be able to gain awareness of teaching and learning, to be open to all, to be critical of, to generate new choices, to identify and overcome a problem area in their teaching, and finally to make well-formed decisions.
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : be familiar with the techniques commonly used in teaching main language skills.
LO - 2 : be familiar with the ways to manage problems in foreign language classrooms.
LO - 3 : be aware about different ways of using drama in foreign language classrooms.
LO - 4 : be familiar with the concepts of autonomy and how to promote it in a foreing language classroom.
LO - 5 : gain insights into the qualities of a good language teacher and learner.
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
Adopting an exploratory approach to teaching, this course aims to make students aware of searching for the better or the best ways to liberate themselves from the pressure of having to follow certain techniques.The main goal is to be able to gain awareness of teaching and learning, to be open to all, to be critical of, to generate new choices, to identify and overcome a problem area in their teaching, and finally to make well-formed decisions. The students will be encouraged to get involved in processes through which they can make their own decisions, construct and reconstruct their own set of beliefs and practices in relation to language teaching.
