The aim of the course:
It is aimed to provide students with the skills of designing a foundation system and using soil improvement methods by making a soil investigation and preparing a soil survey report for a building.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
Field and soil investigation. Surface foundation types, base pressures and T and M diagrams. Bearing capacity of shallow foundations. Settlement of shallow foundations. Deep foundation types. Bearing capacity of pile foundations. Settlement of pile foundations. Improving soils.
