The aim of the course:
It is aimed to convey students the basic concepts in relation with the design of various structural reinforced concrete members.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : gain the ability to interpret the behavior of reinforced concrete elements.1,5,8,111,

Contents of the Course
Introduction and history, mechanical properties of concrete and reinforcement, concrete-reinforcement adherence (effective factors, adherence lengths in straight and curved axis reinforcement bars, measures to increase adherence) and reinforcement joints, effects on reinforcement bending places and precautions to be taken, concrete cover thicknesses (rust allowances) and their duties, construction stages, conditions that structures must meet, calculation of sections that can be used in reinforced concrete structures according to simple and combined strength states: Axial normal force (compression and tension), straight and oblique simple bending, eccentric normal force (straight and oblique combined bending), shear force.
